Call for Quickfire Talks

At DVB World 2026 (17–18 March, Amsterdam), the conference programme on the opening afternoon will include five-minute quickfire talks that will serve two purposes:

  1. An invitation to and preparation for a deeper discussion on that topic during the unconference the following day
  2. An opportunity to inform all attendees about a given topic

Where we can contact you about this proposal
What is the topic, why is it relevant for DVB World 2026, the speaker name (if it's not yourself) and any other useful information.
Do you intend to host a related unconference session on this topic?
Any ideas for a snappy title for your talk?

Guidelines:

  • Duration: the talks will be strictly five minutes; you can use a reasonable number of slides and include videos as long as the time limit is respected.
  • Topic: can be anything that you feel is relevant for the DVB community; working group chairs, in particular, might want to consider this as an opportunity to solicit input on a specific (potential) work item.
  • Unconference: while hosting a related unconference session the following day is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged as a means of taking more time to explore the topic with those who are most interested.
  • Selection: the Project Office in consultation with the DVB Chair will decide which proposals should be accepted, ensuring a broad spread of topics and balance with respect to other sessions in the conference programme. Those not selected will be encouraged to pitch sessions during the unconference opening circle as usual.
  • Non-members: while priority will be given to DVB Members, non-members are also welcome to submit proposals.
