A joint DVB-I / HbbTV working group is not just beneficial it’s necessary to ensure a coherent, scalable, and user-friendly transition to IP-based television services.
Strong alignment between DVB (DVB-I) and HbbTV Association around IP-based service delivery and discovery
- Need for better interoperability between DVB-I services and HbbTV applications
- Key focus on content discovery, including on-demand, deep linking, and cross-platform navigation
- Discussion on app integration, such as launching HbbTV apps via DVB-I and enabling apps without tuning to broadcast channels
